The past three years have been a whirlwind for Irish/French singer Cian Ducrot. Following the release of his Number 1 album 'Victory', and several songs including Top 10 hits 'All for You', and 'I'll Be Waiting'.

The singer is currently on the UK leg of his 'The Dream Ship Tour', playing songs from his second album 'Little Dreaming', which was released in August 2025. So now's the perfect time to find out more about the record, including the meaning behind the title, and where it came in the charts...

How did he announce his 'Little Dreaming' album?

Announcing the news of the album, Cian revealed he set out to write a massive 100 songs to 'hopefully make the best album'.

Cian told his fans in a lengthy statement: 'When it was time to start working on CD2, I knew I had to push myself more than ever before. So I set out to write over 100 songs to hopefully make the best album I could. (Apparently, that’s what my heroes did?) I won’t lie—it was scary and hard to know if I was doing anything right, or if I was ever gonna write a good song. But I was searching so hard for a certain feeling. No matter how good or bad the songs were, I was chasing that feeling. At 70 songs in, I still didn’t have it. BUT I felt close…

'I wrote everywhere—from the top of a mountain in the Alps to the English countryside, to a studio in Hollywood, at home, my mom’s house, your mom’s house?! Ok maybe not that last one but still… almost everywhere!!' (sic)

He went on to say: 'A wise friend told me:

'“you can f--- yourself once or twice in this process—make something you don’t like and no one else does, OR make something you love… and maybe still no one else likes it lol. But at least with the latter, you’ve made something you truly love. Then you’ve only f----- yourself once!!”

'So that’s what I did. And it was the most incredible, life-changing experience—to be a kid again and write without pressure. And then it fell out!!

'And now here I am—so nervous but also excited to announce “LITTLE DREAMING”, my sophomore album, out July 11th!! (Unless someone really famous drops one the same day… then I’ll probably have some “delays out of my control” lol).

'Feels like only yesterday I put out Victory, yet I’ve been working on this album for a lifetime. So many amazing collaborators, friends, and loved ones helped make this possible (you know who you are).' (sic)

Fans of the singer were very excited by the news, with one commenting: 'Obsessed with little dreaming playing it non stop 😍' (sic), with another saying: 'Couldn’t be prouder of you every single day ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️'.

When was the album 'Little Dreaming' released?

What is the meaning behind the title?

Taking its name from the album's title track, 'Little Dreaming' is about reconnecting with your inner child, while also breaking down the boundaries of toxic masculinity.

In the song, Cian sings the lyrics: 'I've got glitter in my tears and mascara on my face / I've got sequins all the way from my collar to my waist / Got a wave of iridescence painted on my nails / And I like it when you look, and you look a little pale.

'Oh, I don't care if you like it / Cause I / You know that I can't stop this feeling / You know I've never, ever felt so good.

'There's nothing wrong with a little dreaming / A little dreaming can make you feel so cool.'

Album artwork

On the cover of the album, we can see Cian on what appears to be a private plane, surrounded by luxury things. In an interview published in The Scottish Sun, Cian spoke of its inspiration, saying: “I came across this plane called The Starship, a customised Boeing 720B jet, which was just for artists to tour the world in.

“Led Zeppelin, Elton John, The Rolling Stones and John Lennon all used it.

“It had a bar, couches and a fake fireplace — it was the coolest thing ever. People used to get on after their show and party.

“There were even airlines in the 1970s that had dancefloors on their upper decks. I guess it was like a tour bus — only in America they needed tour planes.”
