More dates added for When Gavin Met Stacey: An Evening With Ruth Jones and James Corden
Due to popular demand!
Last updated 9th Sep 2025
Following THAT final ever episode of popular BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey on Christmas Day, the show's creators James Corden and Ruth Jones announced they were bringing out a special book called When Gavin Met Stacey: And Everything In Between, which will detail how their real-life friendship helped forge one of Britain's best-loved TV sitcoms.
In celebration of the upcoming book, which is out in October, the pair announced a special one-off show in London called When Gavin Met Stacey: An Evening with Ruth Jones and James Corden. Now, due to phenomenal demand, three more dates have been added, including two in Wales.
What is the show about?
James and Ruth will sit down in front of an audience to tell never-before-heard stories and revelations about the award-winning comedy.
Promo for the show states: 'Join the duo as they, recount the rejection, obstacles and challenges they faced on the way to giving birth to their beloved comedy creation, Ruth and James also explore the flourishing of their own real-life friendship. While their now legendary on-screen characters Nessa and Smithy had a profound awkwardness to negotiate, culminating in that marriage proposal in the 2019 Christmas special, Ruth and James forged a magical relationship of mutual support based also on a deep, shared sense of subversive fun.
'From their tentative initial pitch to the emotionally overwhelming final day of filming, the duo detail what’s occurred every step of the way, bouncing off each other in inimitable style. Expect laughter, memorable moments, and behind-the-scenes secrets from Barry Island to Billericay.'
When is it?

As fans will know, after three successful series, Gavin & Stacey came to an end with a Christmas special on Christmas Day in 2019, but after it finished on one of the biggest cliff-hangers in television history, fans were always hopeful the cast would get together again.
After years of speculation, Ruth and James confirmed the news we were all waiting for in May last year, revealing they'd written Gavin & Stacey: The Finale.
With the whole cast reuniting, the 90-minute special then aired on Christmas Day in 2024, with a huge 18.49 million total viewers in the UK, making it the most-viewed non-sporting event in a decade and the most-watched comedy in 17 years.
