James Corden and Ruth Jones announce new book: When Gavin Met Stacey

The final episode of Gavin and Stacey may have graced our screens last year, but it seems fans still have something to look forward now the show is over for good. Co-writers James Corden and Ruth Jones — who also star in the show — have announced they'll be bringing out a new book.
When Gavin Met Stacey: And Everything In Between will be released in October 2025, and will detail how their real-life friendship helped forge one of Britain's best-loved TV sitcoms.
Ruth and James, who play Nessa and Smithy, said: “We’re so excited to be sharing the story behind the story of Gavin And Stacey.
“The show has played a huge part in our 25-year friendship and we hope this book will give readers a fresh insight into how it all came about.”
James and Ruth will also voice the audiobook, sharing never-heard-before stories and discussing everything from the “tentative initial pitch to the emotionally overwhelming final day of filming”.
Susanna Wadeson, of publishers Transworld, said: “What a huge privilege it is to be working with James and Ruth.
“It is incredibly exciting to hear directly from them all that happened along the way from the first spark of an idea to three series and two Christmas specials.
