She's one of the most up and coming acts in the world of music, thanks to her track 'If We Ever Broke Up' finding worldwide fame on TikTok. Following Mae Stephens releasing 'Jungle', with The Chainsmokers and Alok, and her collab with Meghan Trainor called 'Mr Right', she's now released 'Make Me Your Mrs'.

Who is Mae Stephens?

Mae is a singer/songwriter who shot to fame when her single 'If We Ever Broke Up' went viral on social media platform TikTok.

At the end of 2022, Mae decided to drop a short 15-second snippet of her song 'If We Ever Broke Up', which she wrote when she was in a relationship with her now ex-boyfriend.

Following the success of the single, which reached Number 13 in the Official UK Charts, Mae signed her first record deal with EMI in 2023.

Mae is from Kettering in Northamptonshire.

When she was a child, Mae lived with her family on the Kettering Leisure Village estate as well as in Burton Latimer and Barton Seagrave, attending Burton Latimer’s Meadowside Primary School and Latimer Arts College.

Mae told us all about her TikTok hit 'If We Ever Broke Up' on our For The Record series. She revealed that it was written about an ex-boyfriend who was 'awful', telling us: "I won't name and shame, he was an awful human being, and it wasn't until I got out of the relationship that I realised that."

The singer also revealed what it was like seeing her song go viral. "It was the biggest sign to keep going," she said, explaining: "I woke up with seven million followers on New Year's Day, the beginning of a brand new year, and it almost changed my perspective on life, and on trying and on being passionate for something. But yeah, the video was literally just me dancing like an idiot, for the entire globe to see."

Mae delighted her fans by announcing she'd teamed up with American singer Meghan Trainor on her single 'Mr Right', which was released on Friday 4th August 2023.

Announcing the news on social media, Mae shared a collab video with Meghan from TikTok, saying: 'I have never been more excited to say that myself and the incredible Meghan Trainor will be bringing this banger out'.

She then captioned the Instagram post: 'Absolutely shaking over this'.

Is Mae Stephens on tour?

Mae has not yet announced a tour, however she has been revealed as a special guest at Tom Grennan's huge Gunnersbury Park gig, she has also been announced for one of James Arthur's tour dates, on 16th June 2024.

Olivia Rodrigo

She'll be heading to London's Hyde Park for American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Friday 27th June. She'll also be heading to Manchester's Co-Op Live Arena for her rescheduled set on Monday 30th June and Tuesday 1st July, after problems with the venue forced cancellation at the eleventh hour in May 2024.

The Script sold out the first UK leg of their 'Satellites World Tour', which took place in 2024 — but they have now announced several more dates for June and July 2025 taking place at several festivals and outdoor venues.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish's 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' tour will be coming to the UK in July 2025 after visiting the US, Australia and wider Europe. Coldplay

Coldplay announced eight-date UK stadium tour in September 2024. The tour will take place in London and Hull, with two dates at Hull's Craven Park Stadium, and six at London's Wembley Stadium, in August 2025.

One Republic will be heading out on tour in September 2025. The band behind huge hit 'Counting Stars' will be joined by special guest, Ella Henderson as they head to London, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff and Birmingham for the 'Escape to Europe 2025 Tour'.
