How to get 57 days off with just 25 days of annual leave in 2024
There are a few conditions
In 2024 we will have the fewest number of Bank Holidays since 2021, following the extra holidays in recent years. With that in mind here is a great way to maximise your annual leave by getting 57 days off by just using 25 days annual leave.
As much as some of us might like our jobs, a day off is always greatly appreciated, so if you work Monday to Friday and have Northern Irish Bank Holidays off, then you could potentially get 57 days off using just 25 days annual leave, here's how...
January: Saturday 30th December 2023 to Sunday 7th January 2024
Extend your New Year celebrations by booking four days off at the start of the year for a total of nine days off.
Easter: Saturday 23rd March 2024 to Sunday 7th April 2024
With Good Friday falling on the 29th March 2024, you can enjoy a long Easter break of 16 days, by only booking eight days off.
May: Saturday 4th May to Monday 12th May or Saturday 25th May to Sunday 2nd June 2024
Thanks to the two bank holidays in May, there are two ways for you to enjoy nine days off in a row by only using four days of annual leave.
August: Saturday 24th August 2024 to Sunday 1st September 2024
You can book four days off in August 2024 to gain nine days off for a summer holiday.
December: Saturday 21st December to Tuesday 1st January 2025
At end the year enjoy the festive period with family and friends by booking five days off to gain a total of 14 days off.
As mentioned there are a few conditions for this to work, you must work Monday to Friday, and have the Northern Irish Bank Holidays off, but if you do, it's possible to get a massive 57 days off, using just 25 days annual leave!
There are of course some other Bank Holidays you can take advantage of throughout 2024 if you have the annual leave available.
You'll have to be quick though, because it's likely that your workmates will also be requesting these days off!
