Two arrested after Yeovil shooting

Two people have been arrested following a shooting in Yeovil on Wednesday (1st October).

Emergency services were called to reports of a gun being fired at the Lufton Trading Estate.

A cordon was in place

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm.

A woman in her 20s has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Avon and Somerset police say they made the arrests yesterday (3rd October) and have seized a red 4X4 car as part of the investigation.

No one's reported to have been injured.

Inspector Roseanna Green said: “These two arrests mark a step forward in our investigation which is still continuing.

“We have no information to suggest there is any wider risk to the public, however officers are working tirelessly to ensure we identify the people responsible.

“Extra patrols have been taking place in the area since Wednesday and these will be continuing over the weekend. If you have any questions or concerns, they will be happy to help.”
