Kirkby: Teenager charged over double-stabbing
Police have also arrested a 15-year-old boy
A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder over a double-stabbing in Kirkby, which left two other teenagers in hospital.
Another boy, aged 15, and a girl, 14, were seriously injured in an attack at a bus stop on Wednesday night (30 April).
Both remain in a stable condition.
Police have also arrested a second suspect, a 15-year-old boy, on suspicion of attempted murder and wounding with intent.
It is believed the stabbing relates to an early incident involving a group of youths on Tithe Barn Lane.
Extra police officers are currently patrolling Kirkby, to provide reassurance to the community, and have been given stop and search powers.
Detective Inspector Graeme Osborne said: “Even though we have made arrests and a charge our investigation remains ongoing.
"We are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
"Knives have no place on the streets of Merseyside and we will continue to do everything within our powers to find the people carrying and using weapons and bringing them to justice.”
