Great Britain earns first Olympic medal of Paris Games in diving

Team GB has secured its first medal for the Olympic Games of 2024 in the women's diving competitions.
Yasmin Harper, from Chester, and Scarlett Mew Jensen, from Hackney in London, finished in third place at the 3-metre springboard event on the first full day of the Games.
Beginning their campaign for a medal, the pair started off strong, finishing in second place after their first dive.
However, as the dives continued, the divers fell to sixth place, before edging their way into fourth place ahead of the final dive.
Following a strong final dive from the pair, a blunder from the Australian team put them out of the running for a medal, guaranteeing that Team GB would earn reach the podium.
Looking back on the circumstances, Mew Jensen described her success as "crazy". She added: "I don't think I can quite believe it right now. I'm super proud of Yas, super proud of myself and super proud of the team.
"We've worked insanely hard and couldn't have come out with a better outcome, so really happy."
This marks the first time that Team GB have won a medal in women's diving competitions in decades.
It also comes as an early birthday present for Yasmin Harper, who is set to turn 24 on Sunday (July 27th), before taking to the diving pool once again early next month.
"It's my birthday tomorrow, I don't know what I'm going to do," Harper said. "See what's going on, maybe go and see Paris and have a bit of a celebration."
