Police name two women killed in Pleasley crash which left child with 'life-changing' injuries

Two women who died in a car crash on the Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire border, which also left a nine-year-old boy with life-changing injuries, have been named by police.

Amie Pearson, 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, were killed in the collision, after which police arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The crash involved a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto in Common Lane, Pleasley, at around 6.20am on Thursday 27th November 2025, Derbyshire Police said.

Ms Pearson, who was driving the Suzuki, and Ms Carlisle, her passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives said their families are aware, adding: "Our thoughts remain with them."

A nine-year-old boy who was also in the Suzuki suffered serious life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains, the force said.

Three men who were in the Vauxhall were also injured, two of them seriously.

An 18-year-old male was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Officers said that due to the injuries he sustained in the collision, he was taken to hospital where he remains.

A spokesperson added: "We remain keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, as well as anyone who has any information."
