Police granted more time to question murder suspect

Police have been given more time to question a man in his 20s arrested on suspicion of murder in Norwich.
Police made the arrest after officers were called to a property in Layer Close, Norwich, by East of England Ambulance at 4.45am yesterday (3 November 2025) after reports a man was behaving violently and aggressively.
Ambulance initially attended after the man reported breathing difficulties. When officers arrived at the property they found a man, in his 70s, with stab wounds who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A Home Office postmortem examination will take place today.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to the Norfolk and University Hospital to be checked over by medical professionals for breathing difficulties. He remained under arrest and was discharged from hospital yesterday morning (3 November 2025) and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remains.
A superintendents’ extension has been granted allowing an additional 12 hours for further investigation and questioning.
