Passenger dies after medical emergency on flight bound for East Midlands Airport

A passenger on a plane bound for East Midlands Airport has died, after requiring urgent medical attention.
The 7.05pm LS676 Jet2 flight from Tenerife was forced to divert to the Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport last night due to a medical emergency.
The passenger's nationality has not been disclosed but the airline says its 'deepest sympathies' are with their family and friends.
Earlier, Spanish media had reported that a man was handed over to the emergency services, after the plane landed but was tragically pronounced dead on the runway.
A spokesperson for Jet2 said: “We can confirm that flight LS676 from Tenerife to East Midlands Airport diverted to Santiago de Compostela on Friday 14th February due to a customer requiring urgent medical attention.
"Sadly, we can confirm that the customer has passed away and we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to their family and friends at this difficult time.”
