Teenage boy charged with attempted murder following Northampton stabbing

Two other people have been arrested for their roles in the incident

A teenage boy has been arrested by Northamptonshire Police following a stabbing in Northampton.

Officers were alerted to an incident taking place on Monarch Road in the Kingsthorpe area of the town between 6:30pm and 6:45pm on Wednesday (February 5th).

During the incident, a 29-year-old man suffered a single stab wound in the attack. The man's condition currently remains unknown.

Now, a 17-year-old boy - who cannot be named for legal reasons - has been charged with attempted murder, and will appear before Northampton Magistrates' Court on Monday (February 10th).

On top of this, two further people have been arrested in connection with the attack, according to the force.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and currently remains in police custody.

As well as this, a 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, but has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

This comes on top of the initial arrest of a 22-year-old woman from Northampton who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in connection with the assault, who was released on bail, pending further enquiries on Friday (February 7th).

An appeal remains open and officers are now appealing for information and witnesses to come forward.
