13 year old boy second to be charged for Nottingham murder

Nottinghamshire police have charged a second teenager with the murder of 24-year-old Jack Edwards.
Jack was attacked and robbed around Sussex Street Skate Park, near Nottingham Contemporary, at around 6.50pm on Tuesday 5th December.
He died two days later at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre, after he was found with significant head injuries.
Detectives previously charged 18-year-old Kai Howitt, from West Bridgeford, with murder and robbery.
In a further development, officers arrested a 13-year-old boy on Friday 8th December on suspicion of murder and robbery.
The boy- who cannot be named for legal reasons- was charged with both offences is due to appear in front of magistrates Monday 11 December.
A 16-year-old girl was arrested on Saturday 9th December in connection with the incident and has been charged with robbery.
Detective Inspector Clare Gibson, who is leading the investigation, said: “Jack’s family have requested privacy at this extremely distressing time and our thoughts remain with them as they continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
“We would still like to hear from anyone who feels they may have information that could assist our ongoing investigation, and who hasn’t already come forward. Any information, no matter how small or insignificant you may think it may seem, could prove to be crucial to our inquiries.”
Five other teenagers previously arrested in connection with the incident have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
