Detectives granted extra time to question four people over Manchester synagogue attack
Counter terror police are continuing to hold six people in total in custody in connection with Thursday's incident in Crumpsall

Counter terror police have been granted additional time to question four out of six people arrested over the Manchester synagogue attack.
Two men were killed and three people remain in hospital with serious injuries after a car was driven to crowds - and a stabbing - at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall on Thursday 2nd October 2025.
The attacker - 35-year-old Jihad al Shamie - was shot dead by armed police.
A Counter Terrorism Policing spokesperson said the four individuals listed below can remain in custody for up to a further five days:
A 30-year-old man – Arrested in Prestwich
A 61-year-old woman – Arrested in Prestwich
A 32-year-old man – Arrested in Prestwich
A 46-year-old woman – Arrested in Farnworth
An 18-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man, who were arrested in Farnworth, remain in custody for questioning.
Everyone in custody has been arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.
A Counter Terrorism Policing spokesperson added:
"Our investigation into the appalling terrorist incident that took place outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue is continuing at pace.
"The investigation is being led by Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW), supported by resources from across the national Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) network and Greater Manchester Police.
"Significant resources from across CTP have been mobilised in order to establish the full picture into what has happened."
Manchester United held a minute's silence in tribute to the victims of the attack ahead of their Premier League match with Sunderland at Old Trafford.
The Conservatives leader has visited the scene alongside Greater Manchester's Mayor Andy Burnham and emergency services personnel.
