Man arrested following incident in Merthyr Tydfil
A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds which are serious but not believed to be life threatening

Detectives have arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm, following an incident which happened in Aberfan Road yesterday afternoon (16 August).
A 40-year-old man was admitted to Prince Charles Hospital with stab wounds which are serious but are not believed to be life threatening.
Aberfan road was closed for a short period of time but has since reopened.
Detective Inspector Jonathan Allen, said: “This incident has caused considerable concern in the local community.
“I can confirm that we made an arrest shortly after the incident and the suspect, who is known to the victim, is in police custody.
“Aberfan road is the main route through Aberfan and I would like to ask people who travelled through the village between 3.30pm and 4pm to check dashcams for relevant footage.”
