A Nottinghamshire nanna who went viral on social media with her granddaughter has died at the age of 91.
Retford's Norma, from Jess and Norma on TikTok, won the hearts of 2.7 million followers with often comedic videos about their lives together.
One of their most popular videos was liked 4.1m times and attracted 34.5k comments. It showed Norma having to say the sentence 'we're related' in different accents, with her at one point jokingly saying, "Oh I do do some daft things to keep the peace."
Her family announced she had passed away on 5 June. They said in a statement on social media: "Our family lost our rock, our everything, our beautiful, precious, perfect lady. We are all truly devastated and out lives will never be the same.
"We want you all to know that Nan fell to sleep peacefully, surrounded by all her family."
She attracted the love from celebrities too. Former Little Mix singer, Jade Thirlwall, commented on TikTok: "Sending you and your family so much love. Norma brought so much joy to so many, she reminded me of my own Nanna (I would sometimes watch your videos with tears of joy) and helped me heal, as I'm sure is the case for so many people on here. What a special lady and family you are."
Through her TikTok fame, Norma met singer Alfie Boe, who has paid tribute to her on Instagram: "My dear Norma, you brought so much happiness to many people and joy to this crazy world. It was such an honour to be in your presence, and to have shared stories, song, and laughter. God bless you, Norma. You will be greatly missed."
The family statement went on to say the online community helped create a special place for her and made "her last years so incredibly special."
