Bradford house explosion: Four people injured and two arrests made
Emergency services were called to Southfield Lane in the Little Horton area of the city last night
Two arrests have now been made in connection with an explosion at a house in Bradford.
Emergency services were called to a property, which suffered significant damage, in Southfield Lane in Little Horton at around 10.10pm last night (Saturday 13th September 2025).
Two nearby homes were also damaged.
Three people suffered minor injuries and a fourth person was found with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Reports suggest there may have been a gas leak, but this has not been confirmed.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
"A police scene was put in place, and the affected property was made safe with the assistance of utilities companies. A man, woman and a boy from a nearby house were taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
"A 27-year-old man was located near to the scene with serious injuries and taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are described as not life threatening.
"The man has been arrested on suspicion of the theft of metal at the empty property just prior to the explosion taking place.
"The 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the same matter.
"Enquires remain ongoing and anyone who saw suspicious activity on Southfield Lane just before or after the explosion is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101 referencing police log 1857 of 13 September."
