Body discovered in New Forest in investigation into East London woman's murder

Detectives investigating the disappearance of a woman in east London say they have discovered a body more than 100 miles away in Hampshire's New Forest.
Metropolitan Police inspectors have been looking for Yajaira Castro Mendez after she vanished from her home in Ilford on Thursday 29 May. A murder investigation began after extensive inquiries.
The discovery of a body was made in the Bolderwood area of Hampshire on Saturday 7 June.
Formal identification is yet to take place, however, Yajaira’s family have been informed and continue to be supported by specialist officers.
A post mortem will be held in due course.
Detective Inspector Jay Gregory, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a very sad development in the investigation and are thoughts are very much with Yajaira’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
"We continue to appeal to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to please come forward.”
A 51-year-old man that detectives say is known to Yajaira was charged with Yajaira's murder on Friday 6 June.
Juan Toledo, from south east London, appeared in court was remanded into custody.
