Blue Islands has suspended trading and cancelled all flights with immediate effect, leaving many travellers across the UK and Channel Islands needing to make new plans.

The UK Civil Aviation Authority is urging anyone with a Blue Islands booking not to travel to the airport, as flights will not be operating.

Blue Islands’ operations, including some seasonal services, cover seven UK airports: Bristol, East Midlands, Exeter, Leeds Bradford, Southampton, Newcastle, Norwich.

It also runs inter-island flights between Jersey and Guernsey.

Selina Chadha from the CAA said: “We urge passengers planning to fly with this airline not to go to the airport as all Blue Islands flights are cancelled. Blue Islands customers should visit the Civil Aviation Authority’s website for the latest information.”

Advice for Impacted Passengers:

  • If you booked directly with Blue Islands using a credit card, you might be protected under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act and should speak to your card provider.
  • Debit and charge card payments may also be covered by chargeback rules—check with your bank or card issuer.
  • Travel insurance policies that include Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance (SAFI) could provide support, so contact your insurer if you have this cover.
  • If you booked through a travel agent or third party, get in touch with them first to discuss your options.

The Civil Aviation Authority will be publishing a negative response letter for card providers, which may be needed for claims.

Check their website and social channels for the latest updates and advice.

Passengers are advised to make alternative travel arrangements and not visit the airport.

Further details and support can be found on the Blue Islands and Civil Aviation Authority websites.
