Rebecca McKinney takes to the mic with her first solo show on Cool Weekends

Rebecca has been a part of the award-winning breakfast team on Cool FM for the past seven years!
But from this Saturday (24th April) Rebecca will be hosting her own Saturday afternoon show!
"I am over the moon to be given this opportunity to be on Cool FM six days a week & to spend Saturday afternoons with our listeners; getting them set for a summer of hopefully more enjoyable weekends with restrictions lifting!"
"There’s no doubt I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love, laughs & support of the breakfast boys! Pete is my mentor, as well as my friend & I know how lucky I am to have someone as experienced as him giving up his time to get me to this stage, where, because of his patience, I am ready. We’ve been quietly grafting away in the studio for the last month."
"Paulo is always there as the voice of reason & reassurance, telling me that I can do it! This Saturday show was where he started when he joined Cool, so it feels really symbolic."
So what can we expect from Rebecca's show?
"The Saturday Afternoon Club will be all about the listeners. I’ll be experiencing a totally new time of day, so I can’t wait to hear what everyone gets up to while listening to Cool FM on a Saturday. Curtis has done a brilliant job over the last 3 years, so I want to continue what he started and keep the positive, happy vibes going!"
"The last year has been tough for all of us, but I really struggled, particularly at the beginning of the pandemic when I unexpectedly took seriously ill. I’ve tried to use lockdown to focus on getting strong & well again & as part of that process, I promised myself that I would say ‘yes’ to more things, even if they scare me, so....this is me keeping that promise to myself! I’m nervous, but so excited!
