World Superbikes: 'I'll be giving 110%' Jonathan Rea prepares to extend his Championship lead in Spain race round
Jonathan Rea returns to action in the World Superbike Championship series today (Friday) after a short break.
With the last round of races a couple of weeks ago, the Co Antrim star has been spending some quality time with his family ... and passing his motorcyling test for the first time!
Downtown Radio & Cool FM caught up with him in Spain ahead of the first practice sessions.
With a record-breaking six straight World Superbike Championship titles in the bag, he said he was determined to win another.
"I will be giving 110%," he told us. "I am leading the World Championship by a small margin from Toprak Razgotlioglu the Yamaha rider.
"That's important - we have won a lot of races this year.
"I have made some mistakes so it is important not to make them but I am expecting a good weekend."
Rea currently sits just three points ahead of Turkish rider Razgotlioglu - at the halfway stage of the schedule.
