Crusaders boss Stephen Baxter says Gavin Whyte’s dazzling form has earned him the right to play at a higher level.
But in an exclusive interview with Cool FM, he says he is going nowhere in the transfer window.
Baxter, a guest on this week’s ‘The Football Show’ now available to view on Cool FM’s Facebook page, says Whyte is in the form of his life.
“The way he is playing at the moment is probably the best football I have seen from an Irish League player for maybe 20 years and that’s including Stuart Dallas (former Crusaders player, now with Leeds and a regular NI international),” he told us.
Whyte is one of the young players tipped to move across the water and enter the professional game.
That could happen in the summer.
“There has been no talk around Gavin and there have been no phone calls this year and I think it is probably because I was so frustrated with the phone calls this time last year and how that process all works,” Baxter told us.
“It is absolutely time wasting of the highest order and I have basically gone on record and said I do not want any time wasters.”
