Ards winger Jonny Frazer has warned that the club are staring at relegation and will have to get their act together soon if they are to avoid the drop.

As the Danske Bank Premiership season approaches the half-way stage, they sit bottom of the table.

Frazer says it is vital they start picking up the points before they run out of time.

“We’ve been saying for a while we shouldn't be in the position we are, and that we’ll get better - but at the end of the day we have to start picking up points,” he warned.

“Our problem is consistency. We feel we can beat anyone on our day. When we have everyone fit and we're on our game, nobody likes playing Ards."

The 22-year-old was speaking as a guest on our latest BetMcLean football show, in partnership with NIFL, which will be available to view shortly on Cool FM’s Facebook page and to download as a podcast.

Frazer says they simply need to find their form against teams they are capable of beating.

"We just haven't been playing well at the right times,” he said.

“We've been giving good performances against Linfield and the other big teams.

“We seem to be better suited to play against them, but when it comes to the crunch games against the likes of Newry, Dungannon, Warrenpoint and Institute, we seem to be dropping points, whereas last year those were the games we were winning comfortably."

Frazer, meantime, is looking forward to a new life in Australia.

He will move there in four weeks’ time.

Also guesting this week is Dessie Loughery who made 300 appearances for Ballymena.
