Ulster returned to winning ways in the PRO14 as they got past Dragons with a 36-18 bonus point victory over Dragons at Kingspan.

Jonny McPhillips kicked an early penalty, and then created the opening try in the 7th minute.

His opposite number Tovey tried and failed to intercept his pass, with McPhillips able to recover the ball and releas Henry Speight for a clear run in from the 22.

In the 22nd minute, Will Addison showed exactly why he's been called up to the Ireland squad.

Having collected well inside his own half, the centre sliced through the Dragons defence, ducking and weaving through a series of tackles before offloading for Dave Shanahan to finish from close range.

Dragons narrowed the gap in the 32nd minute with a try through Huw Taylor; Tovey converted, before adding another penalty 6 minutes later.

One minute before the break Ulster extended their lead through young fullback Michael Lowry.

Having collected the ball on the 22, the 20-year-old showed good feet and searing pace to carve up the Dragons defence and grab his first try for the province.

With 9 minutes played in the second half, the bonus point was secured as Stuart McCloskey strolled in from close range having been fed by McPhillips to make it 29-13.

However, Dragons kept up the pressure and Jarryd Sage crossed in the 67th minute to set up a nervy finish for the province.

Ulster were able to rally in defence, and late it the game Kieran Treadwell made a 50-metre break from inside his own half, with the lock keeping his cool to find McCloskey who ran in his second try to add some gloss to the scoreline.
