Ulster 29-5 Scarlets

Ulster secured a bonus point within the opening half an hour as they easily swept aside Scarlets at Kingspan in the PRO14.

Matt Faddes got the first after just 5 minutes when he successfully chased down Stuart McCloskey's chipped kick from inside the 22.

John Cooney added the second try 4 minutes later, shaking off a tackle to snipe in from close range in the corner before adding the extras with a conversion.

Matty Rea then got the third as he touched down after a rolling maul off a well-worked Ulster lineout, with Cooney again converting from out wide.

By the 28th minute the game was effectively over as Ulster scored their 4th of the night.

Stu McCloskey was again the provider, looping a pass to Robert Baloucoune that was almost intercepted, but the winger was able to gather before diving into the corner to mark his return to action with a try.

This first-half blitz was enough to kill the game as a contest. Ulster were comfortable, cruising through the second half while facing very little in terms of a Welsh fightback.

It wasn't until the 76th minute that replacement Ryan Conbeer grabbed a consolation try on a miserable night for Scarlets.

However, all it did was spark Ulster back into life, and Faddes scored his second try of the night in the 78th, rounding off a smart move by diving in to to score in the corner.
