Shiels takes manager's role at Moyola Park
Former Northern Ireland Women's international manager Kenny Shiels has take over at NIFL Premier Intermediate League Club Moyola Park.
Shiels guided the international side to their first ever major tournament, last year's European Championship Finals in England, having previously managed Ballymena United and Coleraine locally and Kilmarnock and Greenock Morton in Scotland.
A statement released on Moyola Park's social media last night read, "Moyola Park FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Kenny Shiels as First Team Manager.
"Kenny rejoins the club following a successful spell during the early 2000s and a subsequent career that has seen him have success at clubs including Kilmarnock and Derry City as well as guiding the NI Women's International team to their first ever major Championships.
"Chairman David Speirs commented "We are delighted to have secured Kenny as our new first team manager, his record and experience both in Irish League terms and in the professional game is second to none. He is no stranger to Mill Meadow and knows exactly what the club needs to make the step forward.
"We are sure his influence will go far beyond the senior men's team in the coming months and years ahead as we look to progress the whole club forward to greater things."
