Antrim's Mark Allen is out of the Scottish Open.

He was edged out 4-3 after a closely-fought game with England's Martin O'Donnell.

Allen won the tournament in 2018.

Mark Selby, John Higgins and Ronnie O'Sullivan all progressed to the second round.

Meanwhile, Allen has been drawn against former World Number 1, Judd Trump, in the opening round of the Masters.

It returns to Alexandra Palace in London, from January 9 to 16, having taken place in Milton Keynes last year.

Allen won the event in 2017.
