Rea has to settle for second in Assen in World Superbikes
Jonathan Rea was second in race one of the World Superbikes in Assen on Saturday.
Alvaro Bautista took his sixth win of the campaign, with Toprak Razgatlioglu third.
The Northern Irishman Rea had started from pole position and kept that lead in the early stages. However Bautista went past him with 13 of the 21 laps left.
In what has been a disappointing campaign for Rea, runner-up represented his joint-best result of the season.
It was also enough to see him move from sixth to fourth in the championship standings.
The sprint race and second feature of the round will take place on Sunday.
