Portadown gave their battle at the bottom of the Irish Premiership a boost with a 3-1 win at Newry City on Sunday afternoon.

The Ports netted their first goal of the afternoon - and indeed since October - when Reece Jordan's corner was powerfully met by the head of Patrick McNally - from the loose ball - Lee Upton pounced to score.

Greg Moorhouse doubled the Ports' money with a superb second - his volley catching Stephen Maguire off his line as the ball looped home.

Jordan Jenkins then added a third, before John McGovern pinched what turned out to be a consolation goal for the hosts. Before the end, Ryan McGivern was dismissed as Portadown clinched the win.
