Ulster star Charles Piutau says Ulster must up their game if they're to secure a much-needed win away to Munster this weekend.

As it stands, Ulster are 5th in the PRO12 standings, and the prospect of a semi final spot is looking minimal. Their fate was in their own hands until last week's 24-all home draw with Cardiff. The result allowed Scarlets to pull ahead.

Ulster's run in couldn't be any more difficult, as they face the top 3 in their final fixtures.

First up is this weekend's trip to Thomond Park.

All Black Charles Piutau says they'll need to outdo themselves to come away with a result.

"It definitely has to be the best we've put out this season, because this is a seriously good Munster team," he said.

He's confident though that the squad is up to the challenge, and says the last result has resulted in a change of mood in the camp.

"It's definitely through these times you see the character of a team, you see what they're made of. There's been a real lift of intensity. We're looking forward to taking on this challenge."

Unfortunately, Ulster's hopes of silverware look extinguished. Any hope of a semi final spot would require wins against Munster, Ospreys and Leinster.
