Olympics: Medal joy for Ireland's rowers

Team Ireland have won their first medal of the Olympic Games.

The women's rowing quartet of Aifric Keogh, Eimear Lambe, Fiona Murtagh and Emily Hegarty picked up Bronze in the fours event, just pipping Team GB which included Belfast's Rebecca Shorten.

They are the first female rowers to win an Olympic medal.

Elsewhere, Lisburn boxer Kurt Walker put up a remarkable performance to reach the featherweight quarter finals.

The 26-year-old beat world champion and number one seed Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov from Uzbekistan on a split decision.
