NIFWA: Davis and Dallas to be inducted into Hall of Fame
Northern Ireland legends Steven Davis and Stuart Dallas will be inducted into the Malcolm Brodie Hall of Fame at this year's Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association (NIFWA) Awards.
The Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association's new-look ceremony will return to its traditional place on the calendar, immediately after this year's Irish Cup Final.
The awards will be staged at Belfast's Crowne Plaza on Sunday May 4.
The two 'Kings of Lyon' will attend the end-of-season event, which will also celebrate the best of the Irish League with awards for Player of the Year, Manager of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
Former Aston Villa, Southampton and Rangers midfielder Davis won a record-breaking 140 caps for Northern Ireland, captaining the team at Euro 2016.
A delighted Davis said: "It's an incredible honour to be inducted into the Malcolm Brodie Hall of Fame alongside genuine greats such as George Best and Harry Gregg.
"It was always a privilege to represent my country and the people of Northern Ireland. To receive an accolade like this is incredible."
Ex-Leeds United star Dallas is no stranger to the NIFWA Awards. He was named Player and Young Player of the Year in 2011. He went on to win 62 caps for his country.
Dallas said: "I have fond memories of winning Player of the Year during my time with Crusaders. It's an honour to return to the awards all these years later, to join the Hall of Fame."
The prestigious NIFWA Player of the Year award was first presented to Coleraine legend Dessie Dickson in 1970 and has since been won by Irish League heroes such as Martin McGaughey, Glenn Ferguson and Joe Gormley.
This year's top prize will be keenly contested, with the nominations to be announced in April.
Also up for grabs are places in the Team of the Year, Championship Player of the Year, NIFWA's long-standing International Personality prize and several other important accolades.
NIFWA Chair Michael Clarke said: "Our annual awards are a highlight in the Northern Ireland football calendar.
"It's an opportunity to honour the exceptional talent and dedication within our football community, and a chance to celebrate another magnificent season.
"We are thrilled to host this year's all-new ceremony at the Crowne Plaza, a venue that reflects the prestige of these awards. The Northern Ireland Football Writers' Assocation also has a new logo to mark an exciting new era for the association."
Further information on the NIFWA Awards 2025 will be confirmed in due course.
