Northern Ireland have qualified for the World Cup finals play-offs – without kicking a ball.

That’s because Scotland could only manage a 2-2 draw away to Slovenia.

The result meant that Michael O’Neill’s side take one of the eight play-off spots up for grabs and will be in the hat when the draw is made on October 17.

Whether they will be one of the four seeded teams in the draw depends on tonight’s result in Oslo.
