Cliftonville Ladies go marching on in the Danske Bank Women's Premiership after a 7-0 victory away to Derry City last night (Wednesday).

The Reds have a 100% win record in the season to date and are now five points clear of Glentoran at the top of the table.

Caitlin McGuinness (main pic), Kirsty McGuinness and Marissa Callaghan all netted doubles for the Reds, while their Northern Ireland international teammate Abbie Magee was also on target in the Reds rout.

Crusaders Strikers moved above Linfield Ladies into the top half of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership with a one-goal victory at New Midgely Park.

Aimee-lee Peachey – a recent arrival at the North Belfast side from Glentoran Women – netted the only goal of the game three minutes before the break; netting a rebound after an initial effort rebounded back off the post.

Emily Wilson had the opportunity to double the Strikers lead late on but her penalty was dragged wide of goal, although the Blues could not breach the visitor’s defence.

That result sees Crusaders leapfrog Linfield into the top four.

They have two points more than the Blues and have played one game fewer.

Sion Swifts Ladies remain third as they ran out 3-1 victors at home to Lisburn Ladies; with Teegan Lynch, Naomi McLaughlin and Kerryanne Brown all scoring for the hosts.

Stacey Murdough had levelled up for Lisburn Ladies after Lynch’s early opener, but McLaughlin restored the home side’s lead before Brown wrapped up the points late on.
