Motorcycling: Dunlop breaks Isle of Man TT race win record
He won today's Supretwin race
Michael Dunlop has become the most successful rider in the history of the Isle of Man TT.
The Ballymoney man broke his late Uncle Joey Dunlop's record by taking top spot in today's Supertwin race. That made it 27 wins for Michael, who had equalled Joey's record earlier this week.
Both the Supertwin and Superstock races were postponed yesterday due to dangerous condiitons on the famous course following heavy rain.
But that didn't have an effect on the 35-year-old, who beat Peter Hickman by over 20 seconds in this morning's race on his Paton S1-R machine.
It breaks Joey's 24-year-old record and Michael can go even further in front in this afternoon's Superstock event. Including that race, Dunlop still has five more rides at the TT before the end of this week.
He's out in the Supersport race tomorrow, both the Superstock and Supertwin second races on Friday before finishing off with the Senior race on Saturday.
