McIlroy holds off challenge of Patrick Reed to win the Dubai Desert Classic
Rory McIlroy claimed the Dubai Desert Classic title after a nerve-jangling final round battle with Patrick Reed.
The world number one birdied 17 and 18 to shoot a four-under-par 68. He ended on 19-under par, winning the competition by one shot.
McIlroy had led by three going into the fourth round, but Reed picked up six shots in his first 11 holes of his final round.
But after responding with three birdies, McIlroy holed a 20-foot shot for the win.
