Manchester United will travel to Ireland this summer for the team’s seventh game of its Tour 2017, presented by Aon.

United will head to Dublin to face Italian club UC Sampdoria at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday 2 August, kick-off 19:45 BST.

The stadium has previously been used to stage concerts and 6 Nations rugby

The trip to the Irish capital comes after five games in the USA for Jose Mourinho’s men against MLS opposition, the first Manchester derby outside the UK and highly anticipated clashes against Real Madrid and Barcelona, followed by a match against Norwegian side Valerenga in Oslo at the end of July.

Commenting on the club’s summer plans, United’s executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, said: “The team has a good variety of games over the summer, playing in great stadiums and allowing a large number of our global family of fans to see live games across the world.

“The pre-season programme has been put together to ensure the manager and his squad have a great platform to prepare for next season with games against top-class opposition.”

Richard Endersen, CEO of Aon Risk Solutions Ireland, said: “Every day, in Ireland and around the world, Aon works with organisations including Manchester United to empower results by reducing volatility and finding opportunities to improve performance. We are proud to support the club on their journey to greatness and look forward to welcoming them back to Ireland as part of Tour 2017.”

Ticket details for the match at the 51,000-seater stadium will go on sale from 11:00 BST on Tuesday 23 May for members, with a general sale commenced from 11:00 BST on Thursday 25 May.
