Stena Line Belfast Giants skated out with nothing from this weekend's games. Sunday afternoon's clash with Milton Keynes ended 5-4, the Giants unable to bounce back from a disappointing defeat on Saturday night to the league's bottom club Edinburgh.

The Giants fell to a game winning goal with 38 seconds remaining. Despite falling 2-0 behind after 4:35 the Giants responded well to lead twice, however the visitors pegged the home side back and stole the victory with the late winner.

Lighting Strikes Twice In Opening Period

The Lightning struck first when Christian Isackson scored shorthanded at 2:08, assisted by Francis Verreault-Paul. Lewis Hook doubled the visitors’ advantage at 4:35 with a powerplay goal when he finished off Kevin King’s rebound.

Brendan Connolly cut the MK lead in half when he finished off his own nice move in the visitors zone. Connolly skated the puck into the zone, and combined well with Jonathan Ferland to score at the back post at 5:08.

Giants Middle Period Double

Darcy Murphy grabbed the equalising goal for the hosts, firing low past Pacl, assisted by David Rutherford at 26:20. Rutherford then turned from provider into scorer at 35:59 with a powerplay goal, assisted by Brendan Connolly.
