Linfield are Irish Premiership champions for the third year in a row.

They only needed a draw at Coleraine Showgrounds last night - and that is what they got.

The game finished 1-1 and that was enough for the Blues to clinch their 55th league title - a feat that equals Rangers' world record for most domestic league title wins.

It also means Linfield end the season with a trophy double. Just four days ago they bagged the Irish Cup after beating Larne in the final.

Mark Caughey put the Blues in front but that goal was cancelled out by a Curtis Allen equaliser.

Glentoran celebrate European qualification

Elsewhere, Glentoran beat Larne 1-0 to secure a place in next season's new Europa Conference League.

Meanwhile, Cliftonville and Crusaders fought out a 1-1 draw.

In the bottom half of the table there were goals aplenty.

Ballymena beat Warrenpoint 3-0 while Portadown had a 4-2 win over Dungannon Swifts and Glenavon won 6-3 at Carrick.

The season's last round of fixtures take place on Saturday, May 29.
