Rugby World Cup 2027: Ireland to face Scotland in pool stages

Ireland now know their opponents for the pool stages of the World Cup in Australia in two years time.

Andy Farrell's side will face Scotland, Uruguay and Portugal in Pool D.

It is the third World Cup in a row Ireland have been drawn against the Scots in the pool phase.

Hosts Australia have been pitted against New Zealand in Pool A, while defending champions South Africa are in Pool B along with Italy, Georgia and Romania.

England have been drawn in the same group as Wales for the 2027 rugby union World Cup.

They're in Pool F, alongside Zimbabwe and Tonga.

The tournament takes place in Australia on 1 October - 13 November 2027 and will feature 24 teams.
