Eoin Bradley scored after just 24 seconds to send Coleraine on their way to a 2-0 win over Glentoran at The Oval.

Ciaron Harkin added a late second from the penalty spot as Glentoran hopes of a comeback dwindled.

In the opening moments, Coleraine forward Bradley received a pass from Jamie McGonigle before breaking into the box from the right.

He then quickly engineered some space by casually knocking it around Jonathan Addis before poking past Elliot Morris from the angle.

Glentoran, struggling to find their feet in the game, were then forced into an early change.

Ross Redman had to replace Kym Nelson in the 17th minute after the starting left-back injured himself tackling Stephen Dooley in the box.

6 minutes later Dooley himself also left the field having failed to recover from the effects of that tackle, replaced by Josh Carson.

Another Coleraine injury followed with 33 minutes on the clock, Brad Lyons hobbled off to be replaced by Ciaron Harkin.

A studs-up challenge by John McGuigan in the 43rd minute caused a scuffle among the players which resulted in a yellow card for the Glentoran attacker and Coleraine's Stephen O'Donnell.

Glentoran tried to spark the game into life by sending on Robbie McDaid at the break in place of Daniel Kelly.

The sub flicked a header narrowly wide on the hour after getting on the end of a free kicked fired into the box by James Knowles.

2 minutes later McDaid was hauled down in the box as he tried to shoot, but Coleraine defender O'Donnell was deemed innocent, and the referee signaled for a goal kick.

Glentoran had been enjoying a more promising spell, but clearer chances fell to the visitors in the form of Harkin and then Bradley, with neither able to convert.

9 minutes from time Addis clumsily hauled down Carson inside the box and the referee this time did award a penalty.

Despite a row with Darren McAuley over set-piece duties, it was Harkin who stepped up to slam the resulting penalty beyond Morris.
