Glenavon's rising star has got what it takes according to boss Hamilton
Caolan Marron set to follow in footsteps of Burns and Sykes
Gary Hamilton reckons his star defender Caolan Marron has what it takes to make the move to full-time football.
The Glenavon boss says it is only a matter of time before the talented 20-year-old follows in the footsteps of the likes of Bobby Burns and Mark Sykes.
Marron was named Ulster Young Footballer of the Year earlier in the week (pictured above) after a superb season in a Lurgan Blues shirt.
Hamilton is delighted for him.
“He is a smasher – he is a good kid –a great player,” he told Downtown & Cool FM.
“In my opinion he has got the potential to be another Bobby Burns and Mark Sykes.
“I hope he does it.
“I hope he moves on to better things but, at the end of the day, while he is here we will make the best of it."
