Bangor boss Lee Feeney is the Northern Ireland Football Writers' Manager of the Month for October.

In the month, the Sport Direct Premiership's new boys defeated Coleraine, Glenavon and Crusaders in the league, as well as drawing with Larne at Inver Park and knocking Lisburn Distillery out of the BetMcLean Cup.

It's Feeney's first monthly prize, following in his cousin Warren's footsteps.

A delighted Feeney said: "It's an honour to win this trophy, although in my opinion this award should be called Management Team of the Month, as I would not be here if it wasn't for our staff.

"The players have also been superb. October's success was a real team effort, although as I keep telling everyone, we are not safe yet. Our goal this year was to avoid relegation, and that hasn't changed."

Feeney's side, who sit sixth in the table, are at home to Ballymena United in the Sports Direct Premiership on Saturday (3pm).

The big tie of the weekend sees leaders Coleraine go to Windsor Park to take on reigning champions Linfield in the 5.30pm kick-off.

In the remainder of the 3pm starts, Glentoran are away to Glenavon, Cliftonville host Dungannon Swifts and Carrick Rangers meet Crusaders at Taylor's Avenue.

There's one match tonight as Larne face Portadown at Inver Park at 7.45pm.
