Warren Feeney has been appointed the new manager of struggling Ards.

The ex-Northern Ireland star will take over the Danske Bank Premiership’s bottom club until the end of the season.

Feeney replaces Colin Nixon who was sacked last week after Ards’ sixth league defeat on the trot.

The 38-year-old is a former manager of Linfield and English League Two side Newport County.

Feeney had a long career as a player – and achieved 46 international caps.

He will be in charge of his new side for the first time on Saturday against Newry City.

Chairman Brian Adams said, "We are delighted that Warren has agreed to take over until the end of the season.

"Warren is a man of great experience who will bring a positive attitude to our club.
