Meanwhile, Linfield saw their title hopes take a dent when they were beaten by Glentoran in the Big Two derby at the Oval.

The game was overshadowed somewhat by some spectator trouble, though - with play having to be stopped.

In one incident Glens keeper Aaron McCarey (below) appeared to be struck by a bottle.

After the game Blues boss David Healy said they had let themselves down "on and off the pitch."

"Sometimes you get humbled, sometimes you feel embarrassed and that was certainly one of them tonight," he said.

"I love this football club, I have given every ounce of my concentration levels, every ounce of my passion levels in this club.

"That was a night tonight as a football club we let ourselves down on and off the football pitch."

Elsewhere, Coleraine closed the gap on Linfield to just a point after they beat Newry City 1-0.

Meanwhile, Carrick beat Ballymena 1-0 and Glenavon drew 2-2 with Crusaders.
