Linfield extended their lead at the top of the Danske Bank Premiership to 6 points as they won while Glentoran dropped points at home.

Here's how Friday night's games played out:

Ballymena United 1-4 Linfield

In the 19th minute Joe McCready put the home side ahead, having had a couple of early chances. The January signing opened his account by beating Rohan Ferguson with a smart finish using the outside of his boot to guide the ball into the net from 15 yards.

However, the Blues pulled level just 5 minutes later with Kirk Millar's corner finding the head of Mark Haughey to thump in the equaliser from close range, and Jordan Stewart tapped in the cusp of half time gave them the lead at the break.

After 71 minutes, Jimmy Callacher turned in the third from close range to give them some daylight heading into the final phase of the game, before Andy Waterworth completed the scoring late on.

Glentoran 0-0 Carrick Rangers

The Glens had the best of the first half chances, but it was a dire 45 minutes at the Oval in which the home side looked sloppy in the final third.

Reece Neale tested Elliot Morris with a Carrick effort early in the second half, with Caolan Loughran blasting wide shortly after as things brightened up a little.

The Glens went close late on through Marcus Kane and Robbie McDaid, but ultimately failed to break down a resolute Carrick, who almost stole all the points when Reynolds struck the post in the dying seconds.

Dungannon Swifts 0-2 Larne

Marty Donnelly opened the scoring for the visitors in the 36th minute, finishing well after Tomas Cosgrove's cross into the box caused some panic among the home defence.

Into the second half, Fual Sule's lucky strike effectively secured the points, his 20-yard effort somehow slipping through the arms of young keeper Conor Byrne with 65 minutes played.

Warrenpoint 2-1 Institute

Brandon Doyle showed good creativity down the left before teeing up Alan O'Sullivan to fire Warrenpoint into a 19th minute lead, with the visitors replying 5 minutes before the break through Ahu Obhakhan's close range effort.

Point captain Daniel Wallace looked to have won it for the home side, rounding off a counter attack in the 83rd minute, but Stute scored a late equaliser through Gavin Smith's own goal.
