Crusaders' 1-1 draw with NK Olimpija Ljubljana saw the Irish Premiership champions eliminated from the Europa League.

The result at Seaview meant the Slovenians went through 6-2 on aggregate.

At a heavy disadvantage from the first leg, Crusaders started well and carved out an early chance as Declan Caddell headed straight at the keeper, but the Slovenians took the lead two minutes later.

Nik Kapun collected a straightforward pass just inside the box before taking a touch and firing past Sean O'Neill with 15 minutes on the clock.

5 minutes later Kyle Owens, playing up front rather than at centre-back, went close with a header from a corner for the home side, before setting up Paul Heatley to shoot low and wide.

O'Neill was called into action 10 minutes before the break to turn a shot around the post, and Caddell then cleared a shot off the line from the resulting corner.

Crusaderes weren't deterred, a grabbed an equalising goal in the 41st minute.

Billy Joe Burns played a free kick in behind the defence where Matthew Snoddy was able to take a touch before teeing up Heatley to shoot low into the corner of the net.

With both sides having virtually nothing to play for, the second half passed by largely without incident.
