Crawley calling: Feeney back in football management
Ex Linfield boss assistant to Harry Kewell at League Two side
Former Northern Ireland international Warren Feeney has been appointed assistant coach at League Two side Crawley Town.
Feeney who also managed Linfield before David Healy has been out of football since being sacked as manager of Newport County in September.
The 36-year-old will be assistant to his good friend Harry Kewell who finds himself in his first senior management role.
Kewell, a former Leeds and Liverpool star, was most recently in charge of Watford’s under 23s.
He caught up with Downtown & Cool FM last week in Belfast where he was undertaking work on his coaching licence.
In an exclusive interview, Kewell revealed that he wanted to be a manager rather than a coach.
In addition, he spoke about Northern Ireland’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
And he said that because of the Euros, many teams would be wary and will do their homework before playing them.
