Commonwealth Games: O'Connor secures Silver in heptathlon

Newry heptathlete Kate O'Connor has won a magnificent Silver at the Commonwealth Games.

The 21-year-old Kate O'Connor, who topped the javelin event before posting a season's best time in the 800 metres to earn a whopping 900 points.

That brought her overall points tally to 6233 - giving her the Silver medal.

England's defending champion, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, won Gold with a points total of 6,377.
