Challenge Cup: Giants lose to Panthers in quarter-final first leg

The Belfast Giants have it all to do if they are to retain their Challenge Cup.

Last night (Thursday) they fell 3-2 to the Nottingham Panthers in the away first leg of their quarter-final.

The Giants got off to the perfect start racing into a 2-0 lead through Steve Owre and Darik Angeli.

But a double from Jeremy Welsh and a third from Brett Welychka completed a superb Panthers comeback.

The second leg will take place at the SSE Arena in Belfast on January 4th.

Meanwhile, next u for Adam Keefe's side is a trip to Manchester Storm on Saturday followed by the Coventry Blaze on Sunday.
